Field Trip Admission

Perfect for school, church, parent, homeschool, and community groups, children can explore our two floors of educational exhibits through self-guided field trips, or participate in educational workshops through our Learning Labs.  A 5:1 child to adult ratio is required. We offer several educational experiences throughout the school year, as well as outreach programming through our Mobile Museum program.

Our mess hall is available to reserve for your group. Reservations must be made when scheduling. $1 per child.

When you are ready to schedule, please have the following information ready:

  • Contact name and school
  • Phone and email
  • Grade and approximate number of children
  • Field trip type
  • Date and time (please have multiple dates and times available)

Groups must call and schedule a field trip at least 24 hours in advance, in order to receive a group rate.  

BASIC SELF-GUIDED FIELD TRIP

Cost: $7/per person. 1 adult admitted free for every 5 children

Time: 1 hour of Museum exploration

Group Size: Minimum of 10 children
Max limit 125

Groups must call and schedule a field trip at least 24 hours in advance, in order to receive a group rate.    

EXTENDED SELF-GUIDED FIELD TRIP

Cost: $9/per person. 1 adult admitted free for every 5 children

Time: 2 hours of Museum exploration

Group Size: Minimum of 10 children
Max limit of 125

Groups must call and schedule a field trip at least 24 hours in advance, in order to receive a group rate.

LOGO - Learning Labs - web

Learning Labs are a great way to enhance your field trip with interactive learning experiences led by museum education professionals. Each lab lasts up to an hour and is tailored specifically for your grade level. Learning Labs are powered by S.T.E.A.M. and include engaging hands-on activities.

Any of the labs below, regardless of the intended age, can be customized for your class if interested!

Cost: $3/per child atop field trip admission. 1 adult admitted free for every 5 children

Time: 1 hour in classroom, in addition to your basic or extended field trip time

Group Size: Minimum of 10 children. Groups with more than 25 children may be asked to split into smaller groups at the discretion of museum staff.

KIDS of ALL AGES: SL!ME

SL!ME

Create a bag of your own ooey, gooey slime to take home! Slime making is always a good time and can be enjoyed by kids of ANY age. Fun that keeps on giving!

LEARNING LABS: EARLY LEARNERS

Three Little Pigs

Learn how hard work pays off for the Three Little Pigs.  Build “houses” made of straw, sticks, and bricks and see which house withstands a huff and a puff from The Big Bad Wolf!

Mixed-up Mice

Learn how to mix primary colors to make something new with the help of some friendly mice (not real mice). Then get ready to create your own color combinations!

LEARNING LABS: 1st – 2nd GRADE

Botanical Beasts

Create your own mixed media monsters and discover that not all monsters are scary. Everyone’s project will be unique because no two monsters are the same! **This lesson can be customized for older students**

Grassy Heads

Joins us to learn how a seed grows into a plant. Create your own “silly guy” cup to take home–think a DIY Chia Pet. Water his top and watch his “hair” grow!

We’ll create our own “bugs” and build a maze for them to run through!

Styrofoam Printmaking

Styrofoam (and other elements) will be used to create artwork using fine art techniques.

Monster Coil Pots

It’s a monster! It’s coiled! It’s a pot! We’ll use Model Magic Clay to create some truly unique and ultimately useful “monster pots.”

Tennis Ball Towers

Which team can build the tallest tower using only the supplies given? AND your tower has to be strong enough to hold a tennis ball!
